The definition of ecotourism can be various but the basics are mostly similar in all cases. IUNC (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) was established in 1948 and comprises governmental a well as non-governmental organizations. Hungary is among the members since 1975. According to ecotourism project of the organization, the definition is the following: „Ecotourism is an environment-based journey and visit on sensitive natural area which is focusing on and considering the past and present values of local natural and cultural resources and also respecting social and economical advantages of local population while preserving it by reducing the impact of human presence.“ Ecotourism provides a comprehensive solution of tourist turnover control for operators of natural protected so that besides natural reserve organizations also local communities may profit from the advantages of developments, for the mutual satisfaction of parties. It has become clear at the end of 20th century that nowadays developing activity of tourism leads to the devastation of nature which constitutes the exact basic of tourist products. Negative impacts of movement, residence and different form of leisure activities are the contamination and reduced extent of natural area, endangering of natural resources and animals, also destruction of many natural landscape. Finally, favorite destinations may lose their attraction. The actors of one of the most dynamic economic sector start realizing the consequences of this situation and searching for such solutions which may lead to sustainable development of tourism. And this happens due to increasing demand pressure.
